YMC was founded in London in 1995 by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins. Since then, the label has established itself as one of the UK's most enduring and influential independent brands.The name YMC comes from a quote by famed industrial designer Raymond Loewy: "You have to create your own design style" - a call to arms that informs the essence of the brand's identity.Originally inspired by work and military wear, the duo developed the unisex brand with the aim of creating sleek and timeless garments. Today, YMC continues to subvert expectations while hitting the cultural zeitgeist. Each collection is informed by creative director Moss' passion for music, literature and art, as well as his post-punk DIY attitude, yet still wearable.Today, the label has two standalone London stores in Shoreditch and another branch in Seoul.
