How it started: The brand MIZUNO Brothers Ltd. was founded in 1906 by the two brothers Rihachi and Rizo Mizuno in Osaka, Japan. Rihachi Mizuno, the older of the two, was a fan of American baseball culture. Therefore, he set the goal of spreading the sport in his native Japan. In 1907, he began manufacturing typical baseball clothing. Three years later, in 1910, he developed his first baseball shoes - albeit without the spicy spikes at that time.
In the same year, the company renamed itself. The brand's new name: Mizuno. With the new identity, the sporting goods manufacturer also expanded its product line and began producing baseballs, gloves, and cleated and spiked shoes in addition to sportswear. In addition, another milestone was set in 1938 with the establishment of a scientific laboratory - the department where Mizuno's innovative technologies are developed to this day.
