Salomon has evolved from a French ski and trail specialist to a cornerstone of the Gorpcore movement – and the XT-6 is at its center. The model debuted in 2013, designed by the Salomon S/LAB team led by designer Benjamin Grenet for elite ultramarathon runners like Kilian Jornet and François D'haene. What started as a pure performance tool for hundred miles over rocks, gravel, and mud became, by 2019, the silhouette that anchored technical footwear in fashion. The Steel Streets line reimagines the XT-6 for the city. The version features breathable 3D mesh, reflective metallic yarn, and metallic SensiFit™ technology. In the Coyote Brown / Oxford Tan colorway, earthy tones run over the layered construction, while the metallic shimmer breaks up the profile in streaked light – underneath, the Mud Contagrip outsole works as usual. This version translates the raw pulse of the metropolis into muted tones. The XT-6 remains what it has always been: trail DNA that has long found a home on asphalt.
