Puma continues its best-selling silhouette with the Puma Speedcat Wedge Wmns. The Speedcat debuted in 1999 as a racing shoe, derived from the driver shoes Puma made for Formula 1 pilots, followed by a lifestyle version in 2000. The wedge version is a fashion-oriented update of this motorsport icon: the sleek Speedcat upper meets a hidden wedge sole, bridging the gap between sneaker and fashion piece. This colorway comes in Cool Light Gray, paired with a gum sole. The suede upper gives the high-top a soft, muted feel, while the PUMA Cat at the toe and the formstrip remain tonal. A Velcro strap over the midfoot continues the calm, monochromatic look. From the cockpit to the asphalt: the Speedcat is one of the models that has brought the low-profile look back into the spotlight. In this gray wedge variant, the racing DNA remains intact, gaining a few centimeters in height and a clear Y2K touch.

About Puma

Founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, the sports brand knew early on how to cause a stir with outstanding products and perfect product placement. In addition to its strong involvement in soccer and athletics, it was the tennis boom of the 1980s that finally lifted Puma into the premier league of sporting goods manufacturers. With the emergence of breakdancing and hip hop culture, the Puma Suede soon became the must-have sneaker for b-boys and girls worldwide and can celebrate its now 50th anniversary in 2018.

In the 1990s, Puma set new standards in sneaker innovation with its disc lacing system and Trinomic cushioning. At the same time, the Puma Speedcat was created, a silhouette that was originally developed for motorsports and now enjoys cult status as a lifestyle and retro sneaker.

In addition to the probably best-known brand ambassador and exceptional athlete Usain Bolt, Puma was able to win pop icons Rihanna and The Weeknd for collaborations in recent years. From the highly coveted Fenty and XO collections, new sneaker creations are continuously created that redefine the status quo in terms of sneaker design.
