The Nike Air Jordan 5 Retro OG *Halloween* *GS* brings back a silhouette designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1990. Hatfield was inspired by the P-51 Mustang, an Allied fighter from World War II – the shark-tooth design of the midsole references the teeth painted on the noses of such aircraft. The AJ5 was the first Air Jordan with a translucent outsole, molded ankle collar, unique lace locks, and 3M reflective material on the tongue. This GS version pays homage to the season without going overboard. Black suede makes up most of the upper – toe area, side panels, collar, and overlays – while laces, eyelets, mesh, and midsole maintain the same dark tone, allowing the bright accents to stand out. Picante Red breaks up the black midsole at the signature shark teeth, rounded off with black speckling. After dark, the real twist reveals itself: glow-in-the-dark green shines on the Jumpman on the tongue, the stitched '23' near the heel, and the Nike Air branding, along with the glowing translucent outsole. A subtle flex that only speaks when the lights go out.
