With the ZX 8000, adidas brings back one of the most iconic runner silhouettes of the late eighties. The ZX 8000 launched in 1989 as part of the second wave of the ZX line and introduced the Torsion System, a lightweight TPU support in the midfoot area. The ZX series was designed by Markus Thaler and Jacques Chassaing – two minds that revolutionized modern running shoe design. This version comes in a Purple / Frozen Purple / Pulse Mint colorway. The mesh upper showcases the classic ZX construction, while the pastel palette gives the silhouette a fresh, airy look. Textile overlays and logo details remain leather-free, keeping it clean. The history of the ZX 8000 is rooted in the sound of warehouses: the shoe was an integral part of the rave culture that shaped late eighties Britain, particularly the Madchester sound. In Germany, the release coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall – the shoe quickly became a status symbol. This colorway carries that legacy into a brighter, playful season.

About Adidas

Since its founding in 1949, adidas has stood for quality and innovative product design. It's no wonder that the Herzogenaurach-based sporting goods manufacturer is one of the most successful brands in the sector. Adidas is known worldwide: The three stripes that adorn the company logo have become truly legendary. But the "Trefoil" logo from the 1970s is also incredibly recognizable.

The story of adidas began somewhat earlier and more tranquilly: with the brothers Adi and Rudolf Dassler, who fulfilled their dream of self-employment with the "Dassler Shoe Factory" in 1924. After the brothers decided to go their separate ways, Adi Dassler founded the company adidas.

The name adidas is derived from the founder's name. His brother, on the other hand, founded the brand Puma, which also enjoys great recognition today.

And the success knew no bounds: The further development of the brand's product range and maximum performance were always the main driving forces behind the brand's designers. Today, adidas can look back on a product history that is unparalleled – with sportswear, streetwear, accessories and the hottest kicks.
