    The most beautiful success stories are the unusual ones. The unexpected ones. A prime example is Salomon 's rise from a ski edging workshop founded in Annecy, France in 1947 to one of the hottest sneaker brands in the fashion world. The secret to its success? While other brands are frantically trying to follow the trend and conquer the fashion world with a contrived trail aesthetic, Salomon's current highly sought-after technical design approach lies in their DNA - and comes across as effortless and authentic. We're excited to add Salomon to our brand portfolio as one of the few Tier 0 retailers. Currently available is the Salomon XT-6. Other models like the Salomon XT-4, ACS Pro Advanced, XT-Wings 2 and the brand new X-Mission 4 Suede will follow soon.

    To understand Salomon's impressive super-trend, we have to look back to 2014. After Salomon expanded its core business - skis, snowboards and bindings - into trail running in the early 2000s, the Salomon Speedcross was seen on the feet of many photographers, stylists and other fashion insiders, and eventually found its way onto the shelves of The Broken Arm. As avid trail runners, the founders of the Parisian concept store known as tastemaker appreciated the approach of not primarily wanting to create fashion, but to find a suitable answer for athletes to the rough terrain of mountains. For them, the avant-garde, trend-setting style of the model is a logical consequence of the credo of thinking about function first and not aesthetics. Form follows function to perfection.

    Salomon made its final breakthrough in the high-fashion sector with the "Black Edition" launched in 2016. The dystopian feel that the all-black sneakers and boots possessed couldn't have hit the zeitgeist any better. It didn't take long for designers like Boris Bidjan Saberi and Takahiro Miyashita (The Soloist) to recognize the signs of the times and present collabs with Salomon. Alyx founder Matthew Williams also contributed to Salomon's triumph as an early adopter of the X-Alp - a kind of oversized ski boot. The latest collab with Comme des Garçons fueled the hype even more.

    Technical, functional, obscure, different: whatever description you want to choose for Salomon's footwear products, they have established themselves as a symbol of high-tech and utilitarian design and have found their place in the fashion world.
