Salomon has represented outdoor expertise from the French Alps since 1947, but with the XT-6, the brand has almost accidentally created one of the most defining Gorpcore silhouettes of the last decade. The model debuted in 2013, designed by the S/LAB team under designer Benjamin Grenet for ultramarathon runners like Kilian Jornet and François D'haene. The XT-6 Expanse continues this DNA and translates it into a more textured, retro-inspired interpretation. The colorway Ancient Water / Bitter Chocolate / FTW Silver plays with muted earth tones and cool blue-gray instead of the bright trail contrasts of the past. The Expanse brings new texture and depth to the family, with heritage-inspired materials layered in quilted panels and a stitched Sensifit construction for a layered, retro feel. The Contagrip outsole remains uncompromisingly grippy, whether on asphalt or forest paths. A colorway for the cold season: matte, deep, and quiet.
