The Nike Wmns LD-1000 brings back one of the earliest runners from the Swoosh archive. Introduced in 1977, the LD-1000 was designed by Bill Bowerman and features his Waffle sole, along with a wide, flared heel intended to provide more stability for runners. The idea failed, and the shoe was recalled, disappearing for almost half a century in the archive. Since 2024, the slim silhouette has returned as a lifestyle model, fitting perfectly into the low-profile wave of the scene. This version belongs to the Bandana pack. A clear Sail contrasts against the brown base tone, highlighting the side Swoosh and midsole, while a paisley pattern reminiscent of bandanas runs across the textile base. Suede overlays sit on the toebox, eyelets, and heel, with the profile Swoosh appearing as a white leather panel for sharp contrast. Below, Mosswood Brown runs on a gum Waffle sole. The paisley adds a calm, autumnal touch to the sober retro runner – earthy tones, plenty of texture, little noise. A vintage design that finally arrives in its second round.
