The Adidas x Jah Jah Adistar Control 5 brings a Parisian cultural landmark to an early 2000s running shoe. Jah Jah started in 2017 as a pioneer of the Afro-vegan movement in Paris and has grown with the Jah Jah Sound System, Jahiking, and the creative space Jah Jah Studio. Founded by Daquisiline Gomis and Coralie Jouhier, the collective is more than just a kitchen in the 10th arrondissement; it’s a hub for music, fashion, and Afro-diasporic culture, having collaborated with Comme des Garçons and Salomon. The Adistar Control 5 adopts a 00s runner silhouette and translates it into a streetwear language shaped by Gomis and his environment for years. This style features Yellow / Core Black / Silver Metallic. The Adistar Control 5 opts for a layered construction with yellow mesh, black patent leather overlays, and a matching toe guard, while red accents along the outsole provide a color boost without overshadowing the main palette. The open mesh remains airy, the glossy overlays break the sporty base, and the metallic stripes clearly anchor the look to adidas Originals. A shoe that is loud without screaming. The drop is part of a capsule that Jah Jah continues after its Paris Fashion Week appearance. JAH JAH Studio follows its debut with a new adidas capsule around two very different archive models, carrying its foundation of radio, events, fashion, and cultural programming into the Adistar Control 5 and the Adizero F50 Tunit. Red, gold, and green, the codes of Rastafari aesthetics, run as a common thread throughout the project, giving this runner its attitude.
