Our size recommendation

Hi, I’m Phil & Asphaltgold’s longest-serving employee. Compared to most Adidas models like the Samba OG, the BW Army fits larger. We recommend going half a size down.

The Adidas BW Army brings one of the brand's quietest icons back into the spotlight. Originally developed in the 1970s for the West German army – the 'BW' stands for Bundeswehr – the trainer was designed as a pure functional shoe. The shape resembles the Samba but forgoes the three-stripe motif on the side, resulting in a more understated look. This restraint has made the German Army Trainer a favorite in the fashion world over the years. This version comes in the Cinder / Cinder / Gum 5 colorway: a muted gray on a soft suede upper, with tonal overlays that hold the silhouette together. Burgundy laces provide the only color accent, while the gum sole grounds the look. No logo overload, just clean understatement. A shoe for those who appreciate calm in their collection. The BW Army thrives on detail rather than noise – gray, suede, gum. Done.

About Adidas

Since its founding in 1949, adidas has stood for quality and innovative product design. It's no wonder that the Herzogenaurach-based sporting goods manufacturer is one of the most successful brands in the sector. Adidas is known worldwide: The three stripes that adorn the company logo have become truly legendary. But the "Trefoil" logo from the 1970s is also incredibly recognizable.

The story of adidas began somewhat earlier and more tranquilly: with the brothers Adi and Rudolf Dassler, who fulfilled their dream of self-employment with the "Dassler Shoe Factory" in 1924. After the brothers decided to go their separate ways, Adi Dassler founded the company adidas.

The name adidas is derived from the founder's name. His brother, on the other hand, founded the brand Puma, which also enjoys great recognition today.

And the success knew no bounds: The further development of the brand's product range and maximum performance were always the main driving forces behind the brand's designers. Today, adidas can look back on a product history that is unparalleled – with sportswear, streetwear, accessories and the hottest kicks.
