Thanks for being there! The Darmstadt city run aka the Cup da Franco 2023 is history and so is the very first Asphaltgold Speedway on Schulstraße! We are incredibly happy and sure that not only Team Asphaltgold, but also all other runners and spectators at Ludwigsplatz around our store got their money's worth - whether it was the hot head-to-head race on the speedway sprint or a cool Peroni and delicious pizza from Faema in the cheering zone!

But let's start from the beginning: since 1978 the Cup Da Franco has been an institution of German city runs and since the foundation of Asphaltgold in 2008, our team has always been part of the city run - so of course also this year. A cheering zone with grandstands, finest tunes, Peroni and pizza attracted the Darmstadt masses, this year's Cup Da Franco shirt was sold out online within minutes and is also almost out of stock instore. In addition, we created our own classification in the competition - the Asphaltgold Speedway, in which an approximately 80m long sprint on the Schulstraße was measured, including speed indicator at the end. For the winners there will be pizza and drinks for a year, true to the motto "Running for Pizza since 1978"!

With more than 30 runners in the three races, we were also able to field a stable squad for the race course, who (again) ran their way onto the podium this year. Giuseppe Troia could win the Masters race in a brilliant 16:58 and in the Men's Challenge Asphaltgold could win the team ranking, CONGRATS! But also off the podium there were PBs (= personal best times), which were rewarded with beer afterwards - 35 crates of Peroni were just enough reward to end the great day.

Thanks to everyone who was involved and made this a successful evening - we all agree that after our Cup Da Franco event last year, we really stepped it up at this year's Cup Da Franco! See you soon!
