The club's history began in 1898 with the founding of FK Olympia 1898. It was not until 1919 that it merged with SC Darmstadt 1905 and from now on played its games under the name SV Darmstadt 98. After 80 years of club history, the Lilies celebrate their first major success: promotion to the Bundesliga. Back then they were known as “after-work footballers from Böllenfalltor” - the newcomers continued to pursue their jobs while performing on the field. Direct relegation to the second division could not be prevented.  

The underdog from Darmstadt has been characterized by many ups and downs since then; Relegations, promotions, financial problems. And then the renewed march through to the Bundesliga: again and again the SVD makes it to the top on its own. Today the traditional club and its historic “Bölle” stadium are an integral part of professional football. Only the fighting spirit, solidarity and uninterrupted support of the fans make it possible. “L'Union fait la Force.”  - Only together we are strong.   

The claims “L'Union fait la Force” and “Amour du Club” adorn the pieces of the joint collection. The elements of the two original clubs - the O of FK Olympia 1898 and the lion of SC Darmstadt 1905 - are always subtly integrated into the collection.  

The successes of SV Darmstadt 98 and Asphaltgold are a team effort. So we also decided on a classic US team sports icon within the collection. The result is an absolute highlight: the limited Varsity Jacket made of Melton wool and cowhide. 
Inspired by US Sportculture. Made in US. The jacket, limited to 30 pieces, was produced with close attention to detail: the satin-shiny inner lining bears the golden Olympia logo, patches and fine embroidery decorate the navy-blue wool. The eye-catcher is the oversized lily on the left chest - the symbol of SV Darmstadt 98.  

The capsule is complemented by 470 g/ m² Sweat Pieces. The hoodie and crewneck come with sweatpants in matching colors. The joint collection is rounded off by four T-shirt motifs in three colors each, as well as two caps.  

A classic stadium accessory will be a football scarf with motifs on both sides. On one side there is the claim "L'Union fait la Force", on the other side there is the Olympic logo as a pattern. The collection takes a few steps out of the stadium with a matching skate deck. The design "Depuis 1898" once again alludes to the founding year of the FK Olympia and thus also the SVD.  

We've been working on the collection for a year now - today we can finally present you the result of the collaboration.  

Release is on December 1st at 11:00 a.m. - on the day of the home game against 1. FC Köln at Böllenfalltor. 
The collection will be available instore at Asphaltgold and in the SVD fan shops from 11:00 a.m. The pieces will of course also be available in both online shops. The Varsity Jacket and Skate Deck will only be available from Asphaltgold.

Public & VIP tickets for the home game against 1. FC Köln on Friday, December 1st, 2023 will be raffled off among all purchases in the collection in the Asphaltgold Store. Participation is from Friday, December 1st. 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. possible. Immediately afterwards, 5 x 2 public tickets and 1 x 2 VIP tickets will be raffled off live in our store at Ludwigsplatz.
