A Piece of History - the adidas Samba
The history of the adidas Samba began more than 70 years ago on an icy soccer field. Because as a soccer shoe, the sneaker was designed in 1949 specifically for hard and icy surfaces - and by none other than Adi Dassler, the adidas founder himself. What made the model different from other soccer shoes? The non-slip rubber sole, which is also very suitable for indoor arenas.
Wondering what the first version of the popular sneaker looked like? Not much different than today. That's because the adidas Samba OG was available back then with a durable black leather upper, the three signature white stripes on the sides, gold branding and a brown sole.
