About Aimé Leon Dore

Aimé Leon Dore was found in 2014 by Theodore “Teddy” Santis. The son of Greek immigrants grew up in New York and spent most of his time as a teenager in the streets of Queens. Graffiti, Breakdance, Hip-Hop and House music were the main influences he picked up during those days. Santis also developed an interest in fashion and its correlation with subculture.

Aimé Leon Dore is a contemporary streetwear brand with an individual take on style and character. The collections feature pieces that perfectly match each other in terms of color and look and always stand the test of time. All clothes by Aimé Leon Dore use high quality materials and are “made in USA” or “made in Canada”.

Noticing its phenomenal rise in the fashion world brands like Woolrich, New Balance and Puma already worked on collaborations with Aimé Leon Dore. And what about the name? Santis wanted to call the brand simply “Aimé” but wasn’t able to trademark it. So he added the word “Leon” which translates to “Lion” in Greek and was the nickname of his father as a kid. And “Dore” is the last syllable of his given name “Theodore”.
