After the Air Max 90 was able to follow up on the great success of the Air Max 1 and Air Max Light, Nike gave birth to another innovative series in 1991 with the Air Huarache. The core of the Air Huarache is the neoprene sockliner, which then as now impresses with its compact comfort. Designer Tinker Hatfield found the inspiration for this design during a water skiing trip. Inspired by the snug neoprene material used in water ski boots, he developed a shoe that was reduced to the essentials. So Hatfield not only reshaped the outer shell into a supportive exoskeleton, exposing the neoprene inner boot to view, but even dispensed with the iconic Swoosh entirely. Of course the whole thing stands on the comfortable Air sole! For the 30th anniversary, Nike now brings back the "Scream Green" OG colorway. The color mix of white, scream green, royal blue and black awakens real 90s vibes and is perfect for the coming spring!
