About Veja

The brand Veja was founded in Paris in 2005 by two friends, Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion. The two were inspired by the idea of changing people's consumer behavior in the long term and thus making the world a little bit better. The word "Veja" is Portuguese for "look!" - and that's exactly what the makers of Veja sneakers are all about. The brand from France has specialized in the production and distribution of sustainable fair trade sneakers. Veja sneakers are made in Brazil in the Porto Alegre region under fair conditions from organic cotton, naturally tanned leather and natural rubber. All materials are produced sustainably. In addition to the use of ecologically compatible materials, the two creators of the brand also pay particular attention to fair pay for all employees throughout the entire production chain: from the cotton farmers in the fields to the suppliers to the production workers.

VEGAN SNEAKERS FROM VEJA

In addition to sneakers made from high-quality organic materials, Veja also provides its own vegan line. No animal materials are used in the production of these sneakers. Instead of leather, for example, waxed cotton in a leather look is used or a material that consists of 50% corn waste from the food industry and goes by the name "C.W.L.". The first completely vegan sneaker from Veja was the "Branco". In the meantime, however, they have expanded the vegan range with a few more silhouettes. The V-10, Veja's most popular model, is also available in the C.W.L. variant.

ALL OTHER VEJA MODELS

With the V-12, the Campo, the Urca or the Venturi, Veja has more silhouettes on offer that are highly sought-after among sneakerheads with an interest in sustainable products. Veja also has a running shoe in its range. After more than four years of research, the Condor was created as a running model that is made of 53% recycled and nature-based materials. The Condor got its name because its shape is based on the bone structure of the South American bird. In 2020, the Condor won the ISPO Award and was named Product of the Year. In the meantime, there is even a successor with the appropriate model name Condor 2. In terms of design, Veja sneakers are based on some timeless trends and usually present themselves particularly clean and minimalist - a factor for the great success of the brand.

Veja sneakers are a great option, especially for environmentally conscious sneaker fans. We at Asphaltgold are happy to have Veja, the pioneer brand in terms of sustainability, in our assortment and look forward to the upcoming innovations that Sébastien Kopp, François-Ghislain Morillion and their team will present to us in the future.
