The GEL-1130™ pays homage to the ninth edition of the GEL-1000™ series, whose design has continued to evolve over the decades. The 2008 stability running shoe was originally inspired by the GEL-KAYANO™ 14 and features a similar aesthetic to that legendary trainer. The traditional materials were reimagined with synthetic leather inserts to recreate the shoe with a modern aesthetic. Additionally, the comfortable retro running shoe has been reimagined for the road and features GEL™ technology in the heel for long-lasting cushioning.

Asics GEL
In 1986 Asics introduced GEL technology first on the Japan-exclusive Asics Freaks and then on the GT-II - and the rest is history. GEL technology works on both the rear and front of the foot by strategically placing the gel where it works best. Rearfoot GEL technology reduces impact at the heel and allows for a smooth roll-off, while in the forefoot it improves cushioning during forward movements. The GEL technology, formed from inert polymers to silicone, have been constantly developed to produce a substance that reduces the demands on the human body during sports.
