The GEL-1130™ sneaker pays homage to the ninth edition of the GEL-1000™ series, whose design has evolved over the decades. No matter where your journey takes you, the 2008 stability running shoe will always provide the support you need. Essentially, this shoe is based on the construction of the GEL-KAYANO™ 14 sneaker. The traditional materials have been reinterpreted with synthetic leather inserts to give the retro running shoe a modern look. In addition, the comfort of this retro running shoe has been recomposed for the road and features GEL™ technology in the heel for long-lasting comfort.

Asics GEL
In 1986 Asics introduced GEL technology first on the Japan-exclusive Asics Freaks and then on the GT-II - and the rest is history. GEL technology works on both the rear and front of the foot by strategically placing the gel where it works best. Rearfoot GEL technology reduces impact at the heel and allows for a smooth roll-off, while in the forefoot it improves cushioning during forward movements. The GEL technology, formed from inert polymers to silicone, have been constantly developed to produce a substance that reduces the demands on the human body during sports.
