The GEL-1090™ running shoe from 2003 has been given a modern look, but continues to impress with its characteristic design details. Inspired by the lines of a motorcycle, this shoe is meant to embody the epitome of speed. With a simplified upper, this retro running shoe retains its influential features, such as the tiger scratch marks on the toe reinforcement and heel counter. Additionally, curved lines have been applied along the midsole, while GEL™ cushioning technology at the heel adds comfort.

Asics GEL
In 1986 Asics introduced GEL technology first on the Japan-exclusive Asics Freaks and then on the GT-II - and the rest is history. GEL technology works on both the rear and front of the foot by strategically placing the gel where it works best. Rearfoot GEL technology reduces impact at the heel and allows for a smooth roll-off, while in the forefoot it improves cushioning during forward movements. The GEL technology, formed from inert polymers to silicone, have been constantly developed to produce a substance that reduces the demands on the human body during sports.
