Gary Aspden is no stranger to sneaker culture. For many years he worked behind the scenes mentoring Adidas-sponsored artists and supporting projects. In 2014 he finally stepped to the forefront and unveiled his new baby called Adidas SPZL. It kicked off with an exhibition in Manchester that showcased 600 pairs of vintage Adidas. Although the shoes were the focus here, you quickly realized that this was about more. Aficionados from all over the world traveled to share ideas and celebrate the brand with the three stripes. Following on from the spirit of this exhibition, the first Adidas SPZL collection was launched in 2015. In addition to 80s running silhouettes and classics from the City series, Adidas SPZL is also dedicated primarily to the Leisure series. Gary Aspden's declared goal here is also to design new shoes that authentically echo the Adidas archive. With the latest drop Gary Aspden and his team have succeeded in creating a high-quality collection that will make the hearts of enthusiasts skip a beat.
