In the retro sneaker sector, people often talk about iconic models, but hardly any shoe is more so than the Stan Smith from Adidas. Now on the market for more than half a century, this classic tennis silhouette still perfectly rounds off any outfit. Originally awarded to the French tennis pro Robert Haillet as a signature model, Adidas did not want to put the shoe to rest after his retirement and was able to win the then world number one Stan Smith for the model and a success story was continued.

In contrast to the majority of tennis shoes on the market at the time, the Stan Smith impressed with its all-leather construction, which made it much more durable and thus distinguished it. At the same time, the shoe has always shone with understatement in the form of perforated Adidas stripes and a single colour accent, the universally known Fairway Green on the heel and not least on the tongue. Since 1971, the tongue has been adorned not only with the unmistakable face of this exceptional athlete, but also with what is probably the most likeable moustache in the entire sneaker game.
