Nike Air Max 1
The success story of the Air Max series began in 1987 with the introduction of the Nike Air Max 1. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this first sneaker flaunting a visible Air unit revolutionized the running world for ever. Together with its clear design lines and very eye-catching colorways, the Nike Air Max 87 soon became an unparalleled sneaker classic and to this day remains as popular as ever. Besides the original colorways and retro vintage editions, Nike regularly releases new color variations or limited editions through collaborations with various street artists, sneaker stores or with other streetwear labels. Fortunately, the much coveted Quickstrike or Tier 0 releases are also implemented in other cult styles, for example, in the Nike Air Max 90, Air Trainer or Air Safari, which was also designed by Tinker Hatfield, the star designer of Nike and Jordan Brand.
