Be off the Wall - be exclusive. With Vault rose Vans entered the high fashion game in 2003: The skate brand focused on the silhouettes of its bestsellers and started experimenting - with new materials and the know-how of designers, musicians and artists worldwide. The result: exclusive uppers and limited-edition kicks that Vans sells only through select stores - and Asphalt Gold is one of them. The Vault Story: From skate sneakers to street fashion
Heaven is a Halfpipe: Vans has stood for this since the 70s, when the first kids got on their boards with canvas kicks. The reason: the special grip of the shoes. The brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren originally designed the non-slip rubber sole in the signature waffle look for deck shoes to withstand the slippery conditions on a ship. For the skate community was the usability of the Sneaker perfect for cruising the asphalt and dropping into empty pools: Vans as a skateboarding brand was born.
The silhouettes of the Vans sneaker continued to evolve over the years. New high-tops protected the ankles from the hard wooden boards and the slip-on in the Checkerboard check pattern became an absolute fashion icon - in the skate park or as a casual sneaker. These models and other designs from the entire Brand collection are the basis for Vans Vault.
Vault by Vans means: making what everyone loves even better. And so the brand has since been producing classics like the Authentic or Sk8-Hi with new materials and prints to make their shoes a global player in the high fashion game. With success - because many of the qualitatively exceptional Vans Vault sneakers are created as collabo with well-known brands, artists or musicians. The Vans Vault Collection not only combines skate culture with hip streetwear, but also unites the community spirit of an entire generation.
