Nike Air Max 90 QS VIOTECH x asphaltgold VIOTECH BASE

Nike reaches deep into the archive box and combines real statement pieces with classic design approaches. After the release of the Nike Air Max 90 "VIOTECH" 2.0 now follows the same model in the OG colorway. The Air Max 90 "VIOTECH" in the original colorway is reminiscent of the eponymous Dunk from 2002.

In the early 2002s, the Japan-exclusive "VIOTECH" Dunk Low became one of the models with the most popular colorway - known for its bright color scheme and premium suede materials. Released at the time as an unofficial part of the "Ugly Duckling" pack, the shoe features an assortment of bright, eye-catching panels, which were all made of smooth suede. This catchy look became an instant hit, prompting Nike to reissue this exact design approach in several variations of the retro in 2013 and 2015. Now, four years later, the VIOTECH look has returned on another classic in Nike history: the Air Max 90. Inspired by the original, the Air Max 90 represents a reissue with the OG color scheme. Just like the iconic Dunk, the panels here are colored in University Red, Viotech Purple, Game Royal, Hyper Grape and Pale Vanilla. Grey details on the laces and tongue, as well as black lining and an orange Air Max unit complete the look.

A mix of functional backgrounds and unique classics make the Air Max family a unique lifestyle product in this day and age. Since for us 2019 is all about design and our passion for interiors, we looked for and found a fitting counterpart to the Air Max 90 in this context: Exclusively for the release of the OG colorway, we transformed a USM-Haller shelf into a limited edition asphalt gold VIOTECH BASE. This base picks up the colors of the Air Max 90 VIOTECH and stands just like the cult sneaker for 100% function and lifestyle.
